Support for Women Experiencing Violence During COVID-19

In times of crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, women and girls may be at higher risk of intimate partner violence and other forms of domestic violence due to increased tensions in the household. Women self-isolating and working from home may be more at risk of psychological, sexual and physical violence from an abusive partner.

For women feeling worried about the impact of COVID-19 on emergency plans and their safety at home there are a number of supports available.

If you feel in immediate danger please contact the Gardaí or call 999 or 112.

An Garda Siochana has increased resources and they will offer women all the information, support and protection they need.

Restrictions on movement do not apply to a person escaping from a risk of harm or seeking to access essential services.

If you’re worried someone might see you have been on this page, you can cover your tracks. Read advice from Woman’s Aid about covering your tracks online
